The water control center is the operating system of the Series 9000. This modular designed eight-cycle valve
(see
diagram below) is constructed of non-corrosive, nickel-plated brass for exceptional strength and a long, useful life. Powered by a motor-driven piston with only one moving part, this reliable, trouble-free design is available with meter or timer-controlled regeneration to maximize salt and water efficiencv.
The function of a water conditioning system is interdependent on two key elements: a resin bed that cleans the water and precision equipment that keeps the resin clean. Series 9000 maximizes these elements to create a lasting, dependable system.
The Series 9000 resin bed consists of millions of tiny polystyrene beads packed tightly together. As water passes through the bed, hardness minerals are attracted to the beads by an ion exchange process that produces conditioned water. The bed also filters iron, odor, and clarifies the water. Because the Series 9000 has up to 100% more bed depth than conventional designs, it allows longer water contact for more effective iron control and better salt economy.
Periodically, resin must be cleaned by a process called regeneration. In the Series 9000, the water control center, combined with the resin scrubber distributor, precisely operates each regeneration cycle. Unlike conventional designs, the Series 9000 system cleans the bed by drawing resin from the bottom and redistributing it to the top. This cleansing process is followed by exact salting, rinsing, and repacking.

(1) Water control center, available in 1" or 3/4", comes standard with a brass lever by-pass. It contains all operating parts and disconnects easily from the main system. This offers you the option of carry-in service, possibly eliminating the need for in-house service calls and charges.
